Generative AI Policy
Al-Miftah: Jurnal Sosial dan Dakwah recognizes the increasing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing and research activities. The journal allows the responsible use of Generative AI tools while maintaining the principles of academic integrity, transparency, originality, and accountability.
Generative AI tools may assist authors in improving language quality, organizing ideas, proofreading, translation, and supporting research workflows. However, the use of AI tools must not replace the authors' intellectual contributions, critical analysis, research design, interpretation of findings, or scientific responsibility.
Policy for Authors
Authors who use Generative AI tools during the preparation of manuscripts must comply with the following requirements:
- Transparency of AI Use
Authors must disclose the use of Generative AI tools in the manuscript when such tools contribute significantly to the preparation of the article.
- Author Responsibility
Authors remain fully responsible for:
- The accuracy and originality of the manuscript;
- The validity of research data and findings;
- Proper citation and references;
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or ethical issues resulting from AI-assisted processes.
- No AI as Author
Generative AI tools, including large language models (LLMs), cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot take responsibility for the content, ethical compliance, and publication process.
- Verification of AI-Generated Content
Authors must critically review and verify all AI-assisted outputs to prevent:
- Fabricated information;
- Incorrect citations;
- Misinterpretation of concepts;
- Unintentional plagiarism.
- Disclosure Statement
If Generative AI tools are used, authors should include a statement in the acknowledgment section or manuscript declaration, for example:
"The authors used Generative AI tools during the preparation of this manuscript for language improvement and editorial assistance. The authors have reviewed and verified all content and remain fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the published work."
Prohibited Use of Generative AI
Authors must not use Generative AI tools to:
- Generate research results, data, or experimental findings;
- Fabricate references or citations;
- Create misleading analyses or interpretations;
- Replace the author's original academic contribution;
- Produce substantial parts of the manuscript without proper disclosure.
Manuscripts found to contain undisclosed or inappropriate AI-generated content may be rejected or subject to editorial investigation.
Policy for Editors and Reviewers
Editors and reviewers of Al-Miftah: Jurnal Sosial dan Dakwah must:
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Not upload unpublished manuscripts or confidential review materials into publicly available Generative AI tools.
- Use AI-assisted tools responsibly and only when permitted by journal policies.
- Make editorial and review decisions based on human academic judgment.
Editorial Decision and Ethical Considerations
The editorial team reserves the right to evaluate the appropriate use of Generative AI in submitted manuscripts. Any suspected misuse of AI technology will be handled according to the journal's publication ethics policy and applicable academic integrity standards.
