Freakonomics: Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance

Freakonomics: Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the initial editorial assessment.

All manuscripts will be examined using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or equivalent tools. The journal applies a maximum similarity index threshold of 20%, excluding properly cited references, quotations, and methodological standard phrases.

Manuscripts will be immediately rejected if they are found to contain:

  • Significant similarity indicating plagiarism or self-plagiarism

  • Unattributed copying of text, data, or ideas

  • Redundant or duplicate publication

Authors are required to ensure that:

  • All sources are properly cited using the prescribed referencing style

  • Direct quotations are clearly indicated

  • Paraphrased content is sufficiently restructured and properly referenced

In cases where minor similarity is detected, authors may be requested to revise the manuscript to reduce the similarity index before proceeding to peer review.

The editorial board reserves the right to take further actions in cases of ethical misconduct, including:

  • Rejection of the manuscript

  • Retraction of published articles

  • Notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions if necessary

By submitting to this journal, authors agree to comply fully with this plagiarism policy and uphold ethical standards in scholarly publishing.
