Poverty is a multidimensional issue that affects individuals and societies across various aspects of life. This study aims to provide insights for governments and related institutions in formulating appropriate policies, particularly in improving the efficiency of zakat management so that it can contribute to poverty alleviation and the reduction of hunger levels, ultimately enhancing the Human Development Index (HDI) in the long term. This research employs secondary data analysis derived from zakat institutions and statistical data obtained from the Global Hunger Index (GHI) and national statistical agencies. The findings indicate that equitable and well-targeted zakat distribution plays a significant role in reducing poverty, improving nutritional status, and enhancing overall quality of life. These improvements contribute to a decline in the Global Hunger Index and an increase in the Human Development Index. Furthermore, achieving higher human development requires individuals to continuously strive to improve their standard of living toward the realization of maslahah (public welfare). This study highlights the need for further research on zakat distribution, the Global Hunger Index, the Human Development Index, and poverty rates using diverse methodologies and broader scopes to enrich the literature and generate new insights.
