Author Guidelines

Authors submitting their articles to Qisth: Jurnal Studi dan Penelitian Hukum Islam must adhere to the following guidelines:

1. General Requirements

  • Articles must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in another journal.

  • Submissions must be research-based, which may include library research, fieldwork, or other scholarly inquiries using qualitative or quantitative methodologies.

  • Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

  • The length of the article should range from 5,500 to 10,000 words, excluding references and bibliography.

  • Authors must use Palatino Linotype, font size 11, single-spaced, on A4-sized paper, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

2. File Format and Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect formats.

  • Submissions in PDF, LaTeX, or other file formats will not be accepted.

3. Article Structure

Each article must include the following components:

  1. Title (in English)

  2. Author's Name (without title), Affiliation, and Email Address

  3. Corresponding Email

  4. Abstract in both English and Bahasa Indonesia (200–250 words)

  5. Keywords (in English)

  6. Introduction

  7. Research Method

  8. Results and Discussion

  9. Conclusion

  10. Bibliography

4. Tables, Figures, and Images

  • Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially and include a title placed above each item.

  • Tables should be centered, single-spaced, and titles should not be in bold.

  • Images must be inserted in JPG or PNG format and properly embedded in the electronic version of the manuscript.

5. Style and Formatting

  • Foreign words or phrases should be written in italics.

  • Arabic terms must follow the transliteration guidelines provided by Qisth.

  • Authors are encouraged to use primary sources (e.g., books, manuscripts, interviews, observations) as well as current secondary sources, such as peer-reviewed journal articles and books.

6. Citation and Bibliography

  • References must follow the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style (Full Notes).

  • Footnotes must be used for in-text citations.

  • The bibliography must be arranged in alphabetical order.
