Abstract

In the context of Probolinggo society, various domestic violence cases are often not revealed or resolved properly. Many factors cause this to happen, including the victim's shame in reporting, pressure from the surrounding environment, and the public's lack of understanding regarding the legal rights that victims have. The purpose of this writing is to describe the role of the Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Service (DPPA) in legal protection for wives of victims of domestic violence and from the perspective of Islamic law. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. The result of this discussion is that the DPPA has a very important role in providing protection to victims of domestic violence (KDRT). Likewise, Islamic law pays great attention to protecting the rights of wives. Verses in the Koran such as QS. An-Nisa: 19 emphasizes the importance of being kind to your wife. The Prophet stated that the best husband is the one who treats his wife the best, which shows that the relationship between husband and wife in Islam must be based on mutual respect and affection.
